“People have forgotten how to tell a story. Stories don’t have a middle or an end anymore.

They usually have a beginning that never stops beginning.”

– Steven Spielberg

Why tell stories?

In today’s culture we are constantly being told “stories”; 15 seconds on Snapchat, 140 characters on Twitter, or stationary images on Instagram or Facebook. But through these instant forms of communication we’ve lost the intimacy and excitement of storytelling; the face-to-face, spontaneous words, filled with passion, details, fantasy, suspense and adventure.

Storytelling is an art and a storyteller is the artist. Tenth Mountain Storytellers will celebrate those artists who bring stories to life and inspire us to keep telling stories of our own.

Join us for a day of inspiration and entertainment told and taught by nationally renowned tellers and teachers from organizations such as, Truth Be Told, Spark Off Rose, and The Moth

So whether you choose to participate in storytelling and learning, or simply put a blanket out in Nottingham Park for entertainment, Tenth Mountain is a breath of fresh mountain air in a sea of sameness.

Try something new this summer! Together, we’ll tell a great story.
